Appearance
Deep, dark scarlet with violet hues.
Nose
Berry fruit - blackberries, boysenberries- dried figs, and plums. Strong accents of toasted coconut, and a hint of vanilla.
Palate
Quite full-bodied. Lush, juicy plums and berry fruit on the front palate, accompanied by coconut and vanilla notes. The lush fruit is framed by good fine tannins and a generous acidity that intensifies through the finish.
Overall
A great match for a good asado steak with loads of mouth-filling flavour and plenty of acid to cut through the meat's juices. Possibly a little too acidic on the finish to drink by itself, although this does settle down after a few hours breathing (decanting would probably speed the process up). A very good choice in its price bracket.
