Appearance
Bright, clear ruby red with some orange hues.
Nose
Restrained - eventually discloses some raspberries and red plums.
Palate
Light bodied. Full of bright red fruit - red cherries, raspberries and plums. Accompanied by a fresh acidity, and light tannins which combine to leave a clean finish. A slight minerality on the back palate.
Overall
A very interesting wine - having been made in 100% stainless steel. It is unusual to find a 'new world' Cabernet Sauvignon made in this fresh, young-drinking, completely unoaked style. However the results, if not 'typical' of the variety, are very good. The wine is lively, fruity and well balanced. Alcohol content is high, at 14.5% - but despite this the finish does not seem overly hot.
